Sublimation is a Sci-fi coming of age story inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion and Life is Strange, as well as my own experiences growing up as a Roman Catholic. It's about Alpha, a traumatized teenager who is struggling to fulfill the expectations of her mom, who wants her to pilot a killer mech called an Angel. The Angels are massive, semi-organic machines that connect directly to the body of the pilot and overpower their will. Alpha lives in an isolationist space colony that uses the Angels to ward off outsiders. The Angels terrify Alpha, but she's all but given up hope in her mother, or anyone else in her community, understanding that. That is, until she reconnects with Darcy, a nerdy friend from her childhood, who promises to help her however they can.

Sublimation is currently in the process of being edited. with 200 pages of script and thumbnails being made for the first draft

On the rest of this page I’ve included the sample pages, character portraits, and art tests for the book.

Thank you for reading
